The essence of being “Digital”
In the modern age where most of our communication is achieved through a digital lens, it’s important to differentiate the two different ways we are able to communicate. The terms “Analog” and “Digital” in this context refers to the amount of ways something can be interpreted, for example with something digital like code it can only recognized by the computer in one singular way. While Analog can be recognized in a variety of ways due to the variety in ways it can be interpreted, like a TV signal. Something like a map can only be interpreted in a singular way it was meant to be, otherwise you wouldn’t be using it right if you used it in any other way. A book is meant to be the Authors vision of their work written down meaning it can’t be communicated in any other way as well. Other works like art while can be presented as the author’s vision initially, it can be communicated through others with their own unique take on that body of work. Other forms of communication like body language can have multiple interpreted in multiple ways due to everyone being different in someway. Someone’s tone of voice could be Analog as it may not communicate how they really feel if unintentional or not. Something like a radio station can receive a signal that can interpreted in a multitude of ways due to various factors, but an originally digital signal can be turned into an analog signal through various methods depending on the form of communication.
